What exactly is one of our workshops? And what are the conditions for participating and hosting one?

You want to register or you just registered for a workshop event of The Earth System Fresco.

The Earth System Fresco is a collaborative workshop designed to better understand the issues of our civilization.

  • It is there to help people get in touch with the systemic, physical and ecological concerns that link us to our planetary environment and our limits.
  • It is aimed at everyone: individuals, structures, education, associations, companies... Everyone can attend. The goal is to make earthlings responsible for the very nature of their civilization.
  • It is aimed at all audiences from 10 years old, lasts about 4h30 for its initial version, even more with the extensions.
  • It is free to use, provided that you have created the event yourself and that you have become a facilitator of The Climate Fresk in order to familiarize yourself with the facilitation of such workshops (and also to obtain a little more information on the background of the subject). To become a facilitator on this site, you will have to contact the team directly after having passed the workshop you wish to facilitate yourself.
  • When you go through this site to facilitate workshops, you will be able to keep track of the numbers of people trained, giving rise to badges according to your seniority as a facilitator.
  • The workshop requires handling equipment (physical and light, or virtual) for the team, but not necessarily for each individual.
  • The people organizing the workshops remain free to cancel your participations before the day of the workshop for constraints specific to them, as well as on the day of the workshop due to your behavior, without having to justify themselves.
  • Workshop organizers can also nominate other registrants as facilitators or co-facilitators for each event.
  • Anyone organizing a workshop takes full responsibility for it and has full and complete rights over the entries.
  • Workshop organizers can lock registrations at any time, preventing new registrations and cancellations, at their discretion, for practical reasons.
  • Workshop organizers can only notify a reminder once for each event, so you may receive one!
  • Finally, it is possible to cancel your participation only once for each workshop if necessary: ​​no one can see the unforeseen events coming, good or bad, and everyone has the right to withdraw, thus freeing up a spot.

Workshops can be held online or in person.

🌐Online event guidelines:

You will need to, in order:

  • Find an event with remaining spots on this site.
  • Create an account on this site with an email address that you check regularly (so as not to miss notifications and communications related to your actions, we do not send any messages other than strictly functional ones).
  • Validate your account (normally by email).
  • Create a Discord account and join the Discord of La Fresque Du Système Terre.
  • Enter your Discord pseudonym on this site in your personal space, with, if possible, your real first and last names, in order to facilitate the work of the people organizing the events.
  • Register using your account for the chosen event. The person organizing the workshop will be the only one to see this information for the organization. Nothing is shared or distributed to third parties: your data is protected.
  • On the day: have for each person a computer, in a quiet place, with a stable internet connection (xDSL and more), equipped to communicate: speakers/headphones, a microphone and a webcam. A mouse is preferable to the touchpad of notebooks, but they will also do the job. A smartphone/tablet is strongly discouraged to participate. Your preferred browser (in order of preference: Chrome > Firefox > Edge > Safari > Brave > the rest).
  • Arrive on time (15 minutes early and up to 15 minutes late are tolerated, beyond that you will not be able to participate in the session). The first few minutes are crucial for the workshop.
  • If necessary, provide your unique registration code (not the one from your account, but the one you will find in your space as well as in the confirmation email) to the person organizing the workshop.
  • Plan the time indicated on the event sheet, rounded up to the next hour, in a quiet place, and have something to drink on hand: you will be talking a lot with the other participants! 🙂 Any premature withdrawal will be at the discretion of the person organizing the event to determine whether or not you will obtain your certification.

For information, the workshop uses Mural.io to manipulate the material virtually (no need to create an account) and Discord as a videoconferencing tool (account to create, as indicated above).

⚠️Reminder: the workshops are relatively long. If you do not have this time available, do not register and wait until you have it later.

The workshops can possibly be split into two time slots to facilitate the (intense) cognitive load, and/or have their ends postponed to a later time/date, at the discretion of the people organizing the events, and also, if necessary, in agreement with the participants.

The split workshops because planned as such from the outset are indicated on the registration forms, the improvised splits due to delays and possible unforeseen difficulties remain the free self-organized responsibility of the groups.

🤝Instructions for face-to-face events:

For face-to-face events, you will need to, in order:

  • Find an event with remaining places on this site.

  • Provide your real first and last names on this site in your personal space if possible, in order to facilitate the work of the people organizing the events.
  • Register using your account for the chosen event. The person organizing the workshop will be the only one to see this information for the organization. Nothing is shared or distributed to third parties: your data is protected.
  • Possibly validate your constraints with the event organizer (accessibility, medical constraints, adapted location, etc.). The workshop is obviously inclusive but unfortunately not all locations are.
  • On the day: arrive on time (15 minutes early and up to 15 minutes late are tolerated, beyond that you will not be able to participate in the session). The first few minutes are crucial for the workshop.
  • If necessary, provide your unique registration code (not the one from your account, but the one you will find in your space as well as in the confirmation email) to the person organizing the workshop.

ℹ️ In accordance with the European Union laws on GDPR, your data will be anonymized and then deleted after processing, only the workshop animation and registration management team will have your data during this period, and no one else. No exploitation will be made of it outside the organization of the workshop. You can ask at any time to have your data anonymized (but will lose your online certifications, which include your name).
